Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2018
According to ModernMOH, this is the 22st year of the Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony, which will be held under the theme “Moment of Love @Underwater Trang Station” from 13-15 February. Highlights have included the traditions of a Thai wedding ceremony, and the marriage certificate signing ceremony under the waves off the island of Ko Kradan. This event is open for Thais and foreign loving couples and certified divers, and travellers are also welcome to witness this “once-in-a-lifetime” ceremony.

Special Wedding Events in Thailand to mark St. Valentine’s Day

Million Lotus Wedding Festival 2018
At this time of the year, Nong Han Kum Pavapi Lake will be covered with a romantic blanket of bright red lotus flowers, making it the perfect backdrop for wedding ceremony. For this year, the festival will take place from 11-14 February with many special activities for participating couples including a parade through the city on a beautifully decorated tram, a chance to pay respects to Udon Thani’s sacred images and places, and a traditional wrist-binding ceremony to signify the binding of man to woman in matrimony.

Surin, a Thai northeastern province best known as Thailand’s largest home for elephants, annually organises traditional wedding ceremony with marriage registration formalities taking place while the couples are on the elephants. Locals believe this will ensure good fortune and prosperity to all the participating couples. The event normally takes place for two days during the Valentine’s Day. But this year’s dates and details have yet to be announced at the time of writing. (This year, the event is cancelled.)

Wedding ceremony atop Suphan Buri’s highest mountain
Scheduled to take place on 13-14 February, 2018, this wedding ceremony will bring 14 couples on a trekking trip to the top of Thewada Mountain to have their marriage certificates signed over there. The wedding couples will be married in the ancient wedding rituals of local Dan Chang people, and will also get to visit the province’s only Karen community, join tree-planting activities, taste fresh strawberries from farm, and shop for local products. Thewada Mountain is the highest peak in Suphan Buri and is also becoming increasing popular as an up and coming tourist attraction. The activity is free of charge for interested couples.
